Ratios. Scale
- The ratio of a to b is just a÷b — how many times bigger. Multiply the first term by k — the ratio is ×k; multiply the second — the ratio is ÷k.
- The ratio of 12 to 4 — which operation finds it? The ratio of a to b = the quotient a÷b.
- The ratio of 6 to 4 equals… Divide the antecedent by the consequent: 6÷4=1.5.
- The antecedent was doubled — the ratio… Multiply the top — the ratio multiplies the same way.
