Percentages: Basic Concepts
- A percent is one hundredth: 1% = 1/100. Fraction to percent: multiply by 100 (0.84 = 84%). Percent to fraction: divide by 100 (40% = 2/5).
- 1% — what share of a number is that? A percent is one hundredth: 1% = 1/100.
